Doug Balson
Director – My Health Information Cooperative
Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Arts in conflict analysis and management from Royal Roads University. He has an extensive background as a research consultant, including in health care, and with the Vancouver Island Health Authority and the BC Ministry of Health. He is presently the founder and CEO of My Health Information Co-op. Doug believes that patients are important advocates in the need to improve health care services. He lives with his family in Victoria, British Columbia where he is involved in sports organizations to support youth in the community.
Mr. Balson is the President of My Health Information Cooperative (MyHIC). MyHIC has a Level One Agency Agreement and Project Plan to provide client service for individuals and service providers on behalf of Collaborative Solutions. MyHIC is considered a Health Organization which through contract client service and application licensing participates in the Health Organization Option Plan (HOOP). MyHIC is also working with Collaborative Solutions to create EMR Patient Portals.
